Around the World in 100 Days

How we became part of a World Record Attempt

Have you ever met a Guinness World Record holder? This week we had the honor of welcoming an exceptional young man, Ethan Guo, the son of one of our investors, who not only broke a Guinness World record but is also trying to set the next record. An inspiring encounter for the whole team.

At the age of 17, Ethan was the youngest Pilot to fly over all 47 States on the US territory, and now, at the age of 18, he has embarked on a journey across the world flying over all 7 continents in a Cessna in approximately 100 days - alone!

Ethan started to learn how to fly when he was 13 and back then he formed the plan to fly across the world. He broke this ambitious goal down into smaller goals that would get him there. And the flight across all U.S. states on the North American continent was one of these smaller goals.

However, during his preparations for his journeys, one of his cousins was diagnosed with blood cancer which then led him to use his flights to raise money to fight cancer.

Specially, Ethan is raising funds for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital which is renowned for its work in pediatric cancer research and treatment. So each leg of the approximately 60-stop journey is dedicated to one child receiving treatment at St. Jude’s.

Starting his journey in Memphis Tennessee, the home of St. Jude’s, Ethan stopped over in Frankfurt, Germany on July 9 and visited the office of Neumonda and MEMPHIS Electronic where he shared his story and motivation behind his journey with our team.

We, as a company, are challenging the impossible and pushing the limits in memory testing. But seeing such a dedication in a modest teenager was nothing short of inspiring.
